Friday Night
Night three of the Soulwinning
Conference ended with a group of church members in the altar making a commitment
to be soulwinners and step up their efforts to bring people to Christ. The crowd was down a little, but all in all it
was well attended. Brother Jimmy Ryder
was asked to give his testimony and did so with a fervency. I had the opportunity to preach from Mark
2:1-5 on Make Some Noise! and encouraged the church to let people know that
Jesus was in the house. It is our prayer
that after three nights of preaching on evangelism and soulwinning that the
people of Temple Baptist Church will have a greater burden for souls. After the service we took some of the people
home in Bro. Lane’s pickup truck. I was
amazed at how far some of these people walk to church - every single service.
Saturday
Today we had the opportunity to
take our group up the mountain for a white water rafting trip. I’ve had the chance to go several times down
through the years, but my two boys had never been before. We loaded up and drove up the mountain to a
neat little place that had a variety of outdoor adventure activities. The price of the rafting trip included a
delicious breakfast buffet before the trip as well as a nice lunch when we got
back. We enjoyed the down time together
and then went back to the hotel to get ready for the evening Youth Service.
